Radon exposure, lung x-ray, cancer patient

Radon, a radioactive gas that can accumulate inside homes, is one of the leading causes of lung cancer in non-smokers. Its indoor concentrations are measured and regulated in Europe, but the specific regulatory measures vary between countries. BioRadon, an EORTC study is investigating correlations between radon exposure at home and molecular alterations in patients with all stages of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Today we are celebrating the two-year anniversary since the opening of the study. We would like to thank all the participants and their families, as all the sites across Europe participated in the trial!
